Committees
The chairperson of each committee will be responsible for reporting hours to the Living Stones Coordinator.
Alumni Newsletter Committees – (1 Chair, 2 Members) This person is responsible for acquiring articles, publishing and mailing ‘The Sower’ approx. 2 times per year. This candidate should have prior experience publishing a high-quality newsletter and a good working knowledge of NCCS. Chairperson is responsible for the management of the committee and it members.
Community Involvement/ Public Relations – (1 chairperson; 2 members)
The goal of this group is to focus on the interaction of NCCS with the community of Marlborough and the greater area through monthly activities created and by in large enacted upon or led by the committee. Some examples of past involvement are: NCCS Labor Day parade involvement, Booth at Horatio Alger Fair etc. Chairperson is responsible for the management of the committee and it members.
Advertising/ School Promotion - (1 chairperson; 2 members) The goal of this group is to advertise the school’s happenings – i.e.: open houses, honor roll, fund raisers; special events before and after they occur. This group is responsible for developing contacts with the newspapers, local cable television stations, radio stations etc. Chairperson is responsible for the management of the committee and it members.
Auction Committee – (1 chairperson, 5 members) The chairperson is directly responsible for overseeing the annual school auction. The candidate should have skills in motivating others, managing a group of volunteers to run the auction, managing/promoting the acquisition of goods and services to be auctioned. This person must also coordinate with the Advertising/Promotion committee to see that the event is properly promoted in the school and local community. This person also coordinates with the Fundraiser Coordinator. The members work on acquiring items, setting up the auction, and all aspects of the auction.
Bike–a-thon – (1 chairperson, 5 members) The chairperson is directly responsible for overseeing the annual school bike-a-thon. The chairperson should have skills in motivating others, managing a group of volunteers to run the bike-a-thon, and managing/promoting the sponsorship of bikers. This person must also coordinate with the Advertising/Promotion committee to see that the event is properly promoted in the school and local community. This person also coordinates with the Fundraiser Coordinator.
The members coordinate the fundraiser including preparation, tallying supporting the riders and their families and acquisition of supplies.
Talent Show – (1 chairperson, 3 members) The chairperson is directly responsible for overseeing the annual school Talent Show. The chairperson should have skills in motivating others, managing/promoting acts and participation as well as creating excitement about the show. The members help in promoting and getting the school excited and gathering advertising for the production booklet.
Grants - (1 chairperson and 2 members). This group is responsible for seeking out, presenting to the principal and board, and applying for opportunities for grants for the benefit of the school. This committee must be able to seek out grants using the internet. Some grant writing abilities are helpful. Chairperson is responsible for the management of the committee and it members.
Alumni Fund/Database – (1 chairperson, 2 members) This group is responsible for the alumni/friends of NCCS phone-a-thon drive, tracking alumni, and working to manage the alumni database and its upkeep.
Finance Committee – (1 chairperson, 2 members) This group will be responsible for looking into funds from banks and other entities. They will have monthly meetings to review actions to increase cash flow
Pre-K Committee – (1 chairperson, 2 members) This group is responsible for researching and presenting what is necessary to implement a Pre-K program at NCCS.
